Dear [Representative],

I am writing to voice my strong opposition to AB 77. Our tax dollars, allocated by the state for our children’s public education, should follow our children to the schools in which we choose to enroll them. It is immoral to pass a budget bill which robs children and taxpayers of their money. Furthermore, it is fiscally and ethically irresponsible to fund declining district schools and unions with money stolen from the families and children of California. Public charter schools are legally required to admit a student who plans to enroll, but, if this bill passes, they would be required to educate that student with zero funding from the state. This bill is a disservice to students, a transparent attempt to retain funding within district public schools, and a fraudulent use of tax dollars. Please push to remove all language from AB 77 which is aimed against allowing ADA funds to follow our students.

Thank you,
